Protestors Condemn EU’s ‘Appeasement’ of Iran at Summit Venue

Iranians are set to stage a demonstration outside the EU Summit at 14:00 on Friday, condemning their country’s involvement in warmongering, terrorism, and its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Led by the National Council of Resistance Iran (NCRI), protestors are urging EU institutions to impose sanctions on Iran. Specifically, the NCRI demands that the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) be designated as a terrorist organization. The protest highlights Iran’s role in various conflicts, including the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine, and calls for banning Iranian airlines from Western airspace. Additionally, they advocate for a policy prioritizing regime change in Iran.

The recent widespread boycott of Iranian elections is cited by the NCRI as evidence of popular support for regime change. The organization criticizes the EU’s continued appeasement approach towards the Iranian regime.

Meanwhile, inside the summit, EU leaders are discussing ongoing instability in the Middle East. They have called for an immediate and sustained ceasefire in Gaza, where over 30,000 people have died since October 2023.

Despite sanctions imposed for grave human rights violations and supplying drones to Russia for use in Ukraine, Iran’s trade with Europe has increased since 2022.
