Iran’s Escalating Aggression: A Desperate Attempt to Salvage a Crumbling Regime

In a stark warning, a member of the National Committee of Resistance of Iran, reveals Iran’s alarming intentions to instigate conflict in the Middle East as a diversionary tactic to mask the internal turmoil threatening the regime’s survival. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is strategically leveraging the region’s existing tensions to suppress dissent within Iran.

The root cause of this external aggression lies in the regime’s internal challenges. Facing a growing opposition, Iran’s leadership seeks to distract the global community from its domestic struggles.

Iranian activist said: “The head of the snake [Ali Khamenei] needs to create an external crisis now more than ever.”

The regime’s desperation is evident in its escalating human rights abuses, suppression of democratic activism, and support for terrorism. Iranian activist points to a significant surge in executions, with at least 864 recorded in 2023, reflecting the regime’s fear of an imminent uprising. The Iranian government’s oppressive measures, especially against youth and girls, have intensified, reviving atrocious practices thought to be abandoned.

The Resistance Units of the MEK are particularly singled out by Iranian activist as a source of the regime’s fear, laying the groundwork for a potential uprising. To counter this internal threat, Tehran has expanded its destabilizing role in the region, supporting proxy groups such as the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), deemed the biggest state sponsor of terrorism, is implicated in global terrorist attacks. Iranian activist highlights the IRGC’s support for the Houthis, providing them with naval training, as documented by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). This revelation underscores Iran’s persistent involvement in fostering conflict beyond its borders.

Former US ambassador Mark Wallace emphasizes that Iran’s pursuit of a nuclear weapon is just one facet of its broader campaign to sow terror globally. Wallace, along with others, points to Iran’s alleged involvement in attacks against Israel, positioning the UK as a potential target in Tehran’s ominous ambitions.

As tensions rise in the Middle East, exacerbated by Iran-backed Houthis and the involvement of Western coalition forces, experts like Richard Kemp, a former British colonel, advocate for decisive action. Kemp suggests that a nuclear-capable Iran comprehends only force, urging military intervention to prevent the region from descending into a full-blown war.

The ongoing conflict, triggered by Israel’s retaliation against Hamas in Gaza, has evolved into a multifaceted crisis involving multiple states. The recent strikes by the UK and US against Houthi targets in Yemen underscore the complex nature of the situation.

In the face of these challenges, Iranian activist’s warning serves as a grim reminder of Iran’s desperate attempts to cling to power, even if it means destabilizing an entire region. As the international community grapples with the evolving situation, the specter of a full-scale war looms, driven by Tehran’s relentless pursuit of self-preservation.
