Reports have surfaced of Iranian women facing violent arrests by security forces, sparking outcry from human rights organizations. The crackdown comes in the wake of the Iranian regime’s announcement of the Noor campaign, coinciding with drone strikes on Israel, to enforce strict hijab rules. Disturbing videos have circulated, depicting women and girls forcibly detained by the morality police, with accounts of beatings and assault.
In one instance, a mother and daughter were accosted by agents while walking in Tehran, subjected to insults and accusations before being violently apprehended. Another account from Dina Ghalibaf, a student at Shahid Beheshti University, described being forcefully taken into custody at a metro station, enduring tasering and sexual assault by officers.
Despite outcry, Ghalibaf’s allegations were dismissed by the state judiciary, and she was reportedly arrested and sent to Evin prison. The situation underscores ongoing concerns about human rights violations and the harsh enforcement of oppressive laws in Iran.
